The African American Firefighters and Paramedics League of Chicago, in conjunction with the Have a Heart Foundation will be hosting S.C.A.R.. This was to promote Sickle Cell Awareness and enlighten the community to the disease. Food was prepared by The DeSimone Foundation ( First Class Chefs!) and entertainment by Sydney Jo & The Top Flight band along with a host of other singers after the ride. Proceeds benefited the Have a Heart Foundation
On June 23, 2012 my husband held his first “Sickle Cell Anemia” fundraiser!!!!! What a success!!! It was a motorcycle ride & rally to raise money for the H.A.H. Foundation, in partnership with U.I.C. Hospital. The BIKERS Really showed up & showed out!!!! Thank You soooo much for the support of “ALL OF THE MOTORCYCLE CLUBS” from near & far!!!! They have some BAD BIKES too. We had some riders from other states as well. President of the North Central Region, Dee Brown along with a few more in his crew, Many Thanks & have a safe trip back home!!!! Many Thanks to “SENATOR TROTTER” for his participation!!!! What a pleasant surprise!!!!! We had so many Wonderful vendors, including my Lil Sister “La Tonya , the Jewelry Goddess” & “Love Paradise”!! The” Top Flight Band” featuring ” Sydney Jo Qualls & JoJo Murray” were spectacular!!! (thanks to my Mom & Dorsey) That crazy “Leroy Smith (family), the MC…great job!!! The DeSimone family Chefs, the food was Fantastic & what a variety!!!!!! The Medical vendors, Bonnye Johnson & her team…”OMG” Beautiful!!! The State Troopers & Rescue Riders, BIG THANKS for getting OUR BIKERS safely throughout the ride!!! Many Thanks to OUR FAMILY that participated & gave their support!!!! SHOUTS OUT to The African American Firefighter & Paramedic League ( AAFFPL), where my husband holds a seat on the board, for ALL of the BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS!!!!! We did it y’all!!! Now…..IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER ” NATASHA, 1984-2007″ she lost her fight against Sickle Cell Anemia. This is what prompt her Daddy, Juan to do this Fundraiser!!! Y’all know what…. She also Showed Up & Showed Out in her own way!!!!! Thank you Lord for giving All of Us the strength to make this event for a Wonderful cause a hit!!!!!! We miss you Tasha, mommy’s lil lady. Friends & Family…..I Love It!!!!!
